Projected Top 10: 1. R.E. Lee-These guys are amazing, they are one of those few teams you can ALWAYS count on to be good. They will have trouble winning the title, just as any team, but tradtion, talent, coaching and experience should get them to Birmingham in 2001, if they do at all what I think they will, they should be there and holding the hardware early in December. 2. Grissom-A Cinderella story in 2000, should turn them into a favorite this year. They have a great coach in Ronney Massey and I think he will take the Tigers to the next level this season. They have talent, size, and most of all, they have heart which they showed in great quantities in their play-off run last year. Lookout 6A, Grissom is here to claim their place as a new 6A power and their place in the history books! 3. Hoover-Defending champs and everyone is gunning for them, but they are Hoover, the talent will be there to make a run. No shocker that these guys are at the top of the pack, they will start there and stay near the #1 spot. They play a difficult schedule, look for them to go deep into the play-offs, that is if they dont win it all! 4. Daphne-I watched them several times last season and they really stick to that old saying: "Offense wins games, Defense wins championships." Who knows if that theory is true all the time, but it certainly worked well for them last year and you should see the same happen this year as well. 5. Hewitt-Trussville-This was a team that had a surprisingly good year last year. This season they will be a legit contender and everyone knows it. They could possibly be the most dangerous team in it this year. They have an outstanding QB in Brandon Cox and will make TONS of noise in 6A this year. 6. Prattville-This is almost always a top 10 team, yet they very seldom get the respect they deserve and unfortunately it may not change. You may not see them ranked this high, but they will do well and make it to the 3rd round and will raise some eyebrows and give some of the Big Dogs a scare! 7. Vestavia Hills-"Old Faithful", they've been in the top ten for pretty much 5 years and dont look for them to leave anytime soon. They ahve a great talent pool and play in a tough region. Though I don't think they will win the title, they will go deep in the play-offs and have at worst an 8 win season. 8. Vigor-I'm not real sure what happened down there last year, but hey everyone makes mistakes and rebuilds, so thats what we will call it. Now back to normal Vigor will be a contender as they normally are. They are Vigor enough said! 9. Shades Valley-7-3? 6-4? 5-5? They have never been known to post great regular season marks, but come play-off time they are ALWAYS a different team. Not sure of what their regular season record will be, but this is the one team I absolutely would be terrified to see in the play-offs. They have always been known for their great play-off runs and their monster upsets, I say they deserve to make the top 10! 10. Leflore-TALENT! TALENT! and more TALENT! Not sure what they will do with it, but they have tons of it, in fact too much not to be in the Top 10. Did I say Hewitt was the most dangerous team this year?? Oops My bad! Who will make the play-offs from each region and their seeding: Region 1 1. Theodore 2. Mary-Montgomery 3. Alma Bryant 4. McGill-Toolen Region 2 1. Daphne 2. LeFlore 3. Vigor 4. Baldwin County Region 3 1. Smiths Station 2. Opelika 3. Central, Phenix City 4. Dothan Region 4 1. R.E. Lee 2. Prattville 3. Sidny Lanier 4. Thompson Region 5 1. Central-Tuscaloosa 2. Tuscaloosa County 3. Minor 4. Hillcrest-Tuscaloosa Region 6 1. Hoover 2. Vestavia Hills 3. Mountain Brook 4. Woodlawn Region 7 1. Hewitt-Trussville 2. Shades Valley 3. Huffman 4. Clay-Chalkville Region 8 1. Grissom 2. Decatur 3. Butler 4. Huntsville
